Setup

From activation email to first channel

Setting up 4K Media IPTV usually takes a few minutes. This guide covers the steps every device shares, then the quirks of each one.

Have these to hand

  • The email with your access details: login details or a playlist link.
  • Your device, connected to the internet and up to date.
  • The remote within reach. There are a few fields to fill in.

For every device

Setup in five steps

The order never changes. Only the menus differ from one device to the next.

  1. 01

    Open the official app store

Google Play on Android TV and Google TV, the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, the Samsung or LG store on Smart TVs, and the App Store or Google Play on mobile.

  2. 02

    Install the recommended app

Its name is in your activation email. Don’t install apps from unknown sources.

  3. 03

    Enter your access details

Depending on the app, that’s either the playlist link (M3U) or the server address with your username and password. Match capital letters and special characters exactly.

  4. 04

    Let the list load

The channels load automatically, followed by the programme guide. The first time, this can take a minute or two.

  5. 05

    Make it your own

Add your favourite channels, choose the audio language where one is offered and check the playback quality in the settings.

By device

What’s different on each device

Open the section that matches your equipment.

Samsung, LG and other Smart TVs

  1. Press the Home button on your remote and open the app store.
  2. Search for the app named in your email and install it.
  3. Open it, then enter your access details.

If the app isn’t available on your model, a Fire TV or Google TV stick plugged into an HDMI port is the simplest fix. Our Smart TV guide

Android TV and Google TV

  1. Open Google Play from the home screen or the Apps tab.
  2. Search for the app named in your email, by voice or with the keyboard, then install it.
  3. Launch it and enter your access details.

A wireless mouse or keyboard, or the remote app on your phone, makes typing much quicker. Our Android TV and Fire TV guide

Fire TV

  1. From the home screen, open search (the magnifying glass icon).
  2. Type the name of the app given in your email, then select the download button.
  3. Open the app and enter your access details.

For 4K, make sure you have a Fire TV 4K model. Standard models are limited to Full HD.

Smartphone and tablet

  1. Open the App Store (iPhone, iPad) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Install the recommended app.
  3. Enter your access details, ideally over Wi-Fi.

On mobile data, lower the quality in the app’s settings to go easy on your data allowance.

Windows or Mac computer

  1. Download the recommended app from its official website or your system’s app store.
  2. Install it, then enter your access details.
  3. For the big screen, connect the computer to your TV with an HDMI cable.

An Ethernet cable gives steadier playback than Wi-Fi, especially in Full HD and 4K.

Troubleshooting

If something isn’t working

You see an ‘incorrect login details’ message
Re-enter your details with no space at the start or end, and match the capital letters. Where you can, copy and paste them straight from the email.
The channel list stays empty
Check that the device is connected to the internet, close the app completely and open it again. If nothing changes, contact support.
The picture stutters or keeps pausing
Test the speed on the device itself, move it closer to your router or switch to Ethernet, and pause any large downloads. More tips
The programme guide won’t appear
The guide often loads after the channels. Give it a few minutes, then refresh it from the app’s settings.
A channel has no sound
Check the audio track selected in the player, then your TV’s audio output format. Switching to ‘PCM’ or ‘Stereo’ often fixes it.
